We are driven by a passion to help those suffering from chronic, painful, musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions by hopefully helping them avoid surgery and heal in a more natural manner. Decades of clinical experience showed us that a large group of patients are left struggling with pain and limited function, but their condition is not yet severe enough to warrant major reconstructive surgery. Many patients do not obtain a satisfactory result with pain medications, chiropractic care, acupuncture, physical therapy, steroid injections, and other conservative treatments. In some cases, the outcomes for surgery are not consistently good. The emergence of biological therapies has opened up a wide variety of treatment options which can help patients avoid surgery, diminish pain, and restore function.
It is important to discuss the role of PRP, bone marrow, and adipose derived stem cells in the treatment of orthopedic conditions. The field of regenerative medicine, which uses these tissue preparations to help patients heal, is offering hope to many. Our practice has seen very positive results in many patients. Nevertheless, these treatments are by no means a “miracle cure” for all orthopedic or spine problems. It is critical that doctors considering these types of treatments for their patients fully understand the nature of their condition, and all the treatments available. Some patients are simply NOT candidates for these types of treatments, and are better served with other options. We are committed to a complete and thorough evaluation for each and every patient prior to considering PRP or stem cell treatments. Our practice is focused on musculoskeletal care and pain, because that has been the focus of our training, careers, and board certification. We will only treat patients who are good candidates, and when we expect a good outcome.
